Who is a Good Candidate for Physiotherapy?

We recommend physiotherapy for patients of all ages who are experiencing pain and limited mobility. Physiotherapy can be integrated with your integrative medicine treatments. This comprehensive approach to healing is proven to shorten recovery times and enhance patient outcomes.

What Should I Expect During a Physiotherapy Treatment?

Your physiotherapy treatment may include direct treatments and advanced technologies that promote healing. Direct treatments may involve assisted exercises, massage therapy and at-home exercises. Moist heat therapy is also used in some cases. Advanced technologies that are used for physiotherapy include electrical muscle stimulation and ultrasound. These treatments improve healing by:

  • Reducing and preventing the development of scar tissue
  • Improving muscle tone and strength
  • Increasing flexibility
  • Enhancing balance
  • Increasing blood flow
  • Reducing pain, inflammation and other symptoms
  • Decreasing the risk of injuries

Each physiotherapy treatment plan begins with the most basic intervention. This prepares the body for the interventions that focus on improved mobility. We understand that you may be apprehensive about having someone interact with an area that is injured or painful, so we work at a pace that is comfortable for you. The goal is to promote healing, and this is achieved with physical manipulation as a lack of movement may worsen your condition. With time, you will see a noticeable improvement in your mobility.

How Much Does Physiotherapy Cost?

The cost of physiotherapy is unique for each patient, and it may be covered by your medical insurance. We develop a treatment plan during your consultation, and we determine the cost based on the recommended interventions. If you have medical insurance, we will check to see if the treatments are covered. Should your coverage not include physiotherapy or if you do not have medical insurance, you will be responsible for the entire cost. We do all that we can to keep the cost affordable for our patients.

Physiotherapy is a proven, safe and effective approach to healing. The techniques are appropriate for most medical conditions, including trauma, post-surgery recovery and chronic conditions. To learn more about our physiotherapy services, contact us to schedule a personal consultation.
